9×12 Felt and Rubber Rug Pad

Your 9×12 rug may not be small enough to slip around yet there may be parts of it, like the corners, that can use a non slip rug pad. One of the better 9×12 rug pads we have found is a recycled felt and natural rubber rug pad for hardwood, wood and all hard floors.

9x12 felt and rubber rug padWe recently placed a 9×12 Ultra Premium felt and rubber rug pad under a 9×12 family room rug. The rug is of average thickness so the 1/4 inch thickness of the rug pad was a nice compliment. We noticed that the rug pad is extremely dense and this helps the rug and the floor.

A dense 9×12 rug pad can resist pressure from walking and furniture for both the rug and the floor. This 9×12 Ultra Premium felt and rubber rug pad has a slightly textured surface which is to hold the rug to the pad as best as possible, minimizing any movement on the pad, hence preventing uneven wear to the rug. The bottom is a natural rubber that seems more substantial than other rubber like products with a chemical like odor. The rug extends beyond the back of a sofa and this is a sort of walkway through the room. We noticed that with the rug pad under the rug, this passage area now did not budge at all! The rubber of this 9×12 rug pad truly holds the rug in place.

We have seen many cases where a rug pad would stick to the floor so we took a closer look at the bottom of this 9×12 rug pad. As best as we can tell, besides the product description, this is real rubber. We like real rubber because it does not harm the floor. It is any rubber imitation that can harm floors because they contain some sort of adhesive to make the perform like rubber. The problem is that the adhesive can wear off to the floor, damaging it.

If you have a 9×12 area rug on any type of hard floor, look around for a 9×12 felt rug pad that contains real rubber. Many 9×12 felt rug pads are folded and offered in packages and many of this type contain a spray adhesive. Ideally, if you can find a store that offers your 9×12 rug pad cut right off the roll, your chances are better at getting a higher quality rug pad.
